Talk to a Librarian
If you can’t find what you need on our website or catalog, feel free to talk to one of our librarians who are available to help you in person (see our hours), by calling us at (845) 469-4252 or by sending an email to the library.
Chester Public Library’s Home-bound Delivery Service
Can’t get to the library? Then we’ll mail the library to you!
Any person residing within the Town of Chester who is unable to come to the library because of limited mobility, illness, or handicap is eligible for our FREE home-bound delivery service.
Home-bound status may be permanent or temporary (ex. medical leave after surgery or a pregnancy). A doctor’s note is not required and eligibility will be established when a librarian conducts a phone interview with the interested patron. A new library card can be issued if needed. Please call for more information, 469-4252.
The library will provide Home-bound patrons with two books or audio-books at a time. Patrons can request specific titles or genres, or request that librarians select books for them.
Veteran Discount Program
The Chester Library is part of a program that offers discounts to Veterans. Show us your veteran identification and we will waive any overdue fines.
Fine Free for Senior Citizens
Chester Public Library patrons over the age of 62 do not accrue fines on overdue items.
You must have a Chester Public Library card and check out your items at the Chester Public Library. Items checked out at other RCLS libraries may still accrue late fees if applicable. Give us a call at 845-469-4252 if you have any questions.
